Classes Overview

Yin Yoga

This meditative approach to yoga helps to cultivate awareness of one’s inner stillness. Yin is a quiet, contemplative and intense practice that takes from both yogic philosophy, traditional Chinese meridian and chi (energy) theory, as well as the practice of mindfulness. Yin poses are generally held for up to 3-5 minutes with a focus on the deep connective tissues of the body including fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints. The main physical benefits of yin yoga are the hydration of the connective tissues and the increased blood flow in the joints. Yin Yoga promotes a deep sense of knowing, an opportunity to slow down and simplify. All levels welcome.
